Privacy Policy
This page explains the privacy policy for visitors of Vera Bradlay Day. It is not marketing copy.
What this page covers
Vera Bradlay Day is an editorial resource about Vera Bradley backpacks, duffel bags and purses — styling guides, material notes and trend reading. There is nothing to buy here and no account to create, so the personal information we handle is narrow: what you type into a message to us, and the basic technical data any web server records while serving a page. This policy explains what that data is, why we keep it, how long we keep it, and how you can ask us to remove it.
Plain-language summary: we read your notes, we answer them, and we do not build a profile out of them.
Information we collect
We collect information in two situations only.
First, when you write to us. If you send a note through our contact page or by email, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you decide to write — a question about a duffel bag's dimensions, a request for a styling angle, a correction to a guide. We keep that message so we can reply and so we can remember the exchange if you write again.
Second, when a page is served. Our web server logs standard technical data: the page you requested, the date and time, your browser and device type, and an approximate region derived from your IP address. This is ordinary server behaviour, not a tracker we built, and it exists so the site stays online and so we can tell which guides readers actually use.
We do not ask for payment details, government identifiers, or anything about your health, and there is no reason to send them. If a message contains more than we need, we delete the excess once the question is answered.
How we use what we receive
A message you send us is used to answer you. That is the whole purpose. If your question is useful to other readers — say, how a backpack's straps sit over a winter coat — we may rewrite the answer into a guide, but we strip your name and email first and we never publish the message itself.
Server logs are used in aggregate: how many people read the duffel and weekender guide this month, whether a page loads slowly, whether a link is broken. We look at totals, not at individuals.
Retention windows reflect how we actually work, not a fixed schedule.
When we share information
Short answer: we do not sell your data and we do not trade it. A handful of practical exceptions are worth naming plainly.
Hosting
The company that hosts this site can technically access server logs as part of keeping the machines running. That access is limited to infrastructure work.
Email delivery
Messages you send through our contact form pass through our email provider so they can reach our inbox. They carry your note and nothing else.
Legal requests
If a lawful request from a competent authority arrives, we respond as required and we tell you when we are permitted to.
A change of hands
If the site ever moves to a new owner or a new domain, the records described here would move with it under the same terms in this policy.
Your choices, and how to use them
You can ask us to show you the messages we hold from you, correct something you wrote, or delete a thread entirely. Write to our editorial inbox with the email address you used and we will confirm what we have. We answer within a few working days.
You can also stop us from collecting server logs by using your browser's private mode, and you can clear the cookie preference stored by the consent banner at any time from your browser settings. Neither choice breaks the site — the guides, materials notes and styling pieces read the same way.
Security, children, and outside links
We protect what we hold with ordinary, sensible measures: encrypted connections between your browser and our server, limited inbox access, and a habit of deleting messages once a thread is closed. No system is flawless, so we keep the amount of personal data we hold deliberately small — there is simply less to lose.
This site is written for an adult audience interested in Vera Bradley backpacks, duffel bags and purses. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If a message from a minor reaches us, we delete it once we notice.
Some guides link to other websites — a brand's own page, a museum exhibition about textile design, a repair reference. Once you follow a link, that site's privacy practices apply, not ours. We choose links with care but we cannot speak for what other sites do with your data.
If you spot something on this page that no longer matches how the site actually works, tell us. A policy is only useful while it stays true.
Questions readers ask
Do I need an account to read the guides? +
No. Vera Bradlay Day has no login and no membership. You can read every guide — backpack carry notes, duffel and weekender comparisons, purse and crossbody styling — without giving us any information at all.
Will you email me after I send a question? +
Once, to answer you. We do not add you to a newsletter, we do not send promotional mail, and we do not pass your address to anyone else. If you would rather we delete the thread after replying, say so in your message and we will.
What happens if I write from outside the United States? +
Your message travels to a server in the United States, so sending one means your note crosses a border. We treat it the same way regardless of where you write from, and you can ask us to delete it at any point.
Can I buy a bag through this site? +
No — there is no shop here and no checkout of any kind. Vera Bradlay Day is an editorial resource about bag shapes, materials and styling. Because we never take payment details, we never hold them.
How will I know if this policy changes? +
When something meaningful changes, we update this page and adjust the date line below. There is no mailing list to notify, so this page is the record to check.
Where to write
Privacy questions, deletion requests and corrections all go to the same inbox. Please use the address you wrote from so we can find the right thread.
